Sean Duffy’s Wife’s Advice For A Long-Lasting Marriage Has Social Media Users Cringing

It’s a good thing Rachel Campos-Duffy has a job on Fox News, because she probably wouldn’t make it as a marriage counselor.

Campos-Duffy, the wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, was ridiculed on social media Thursday for some very shallow marriage advice she offered on “The Great American Road Trip.”

The series is a reality show on YouTube that showcases a seven-month, cross-country road trip Campos-Duffy and her husband undertook with the family this summer.

One clip from the long-delayed series has already gone viral: a scene where Sean Duffy tries to talk his 18-year-old daughter, Paloma, out of going to Harvard if accepted because “they have professionalized figuring out how they can take good young girls like you and, I think, corrupt their minds.”

On Thursday, it was his wife’s turn after the Bulwark posted a clip from the show’s sixth episode, which was filmed in Arizona, where she discusses her advice for a long-lasting marriage ― right after her husband reveals she was an hour late for her wedding.

Spoiler alert: It’s pretty shallow, so be careful you don’t stub your toe.

“The key to a good, long-lasting marriage is to marry somebody very good-looking that you’re attracted to because marriage involves a lot of forgiveness, and it’s easier to forgive someone when you’re very attracted to them,” she says.

Not surprisingly, Campos-Duffy’s emphasis on looks made her the subject of social media ridicule.

“Why would someone very good looking pick me?” is a significant question that the female mind, Catholic or not, cannot seem to comprehend. Barring a few. Those who do are single. Like me. https://t.co/47Fstl3LTy
