President Donald Trump seems quite enamored of Chinese President Xi Jinping, as evident from the supercut that “Late Night” host Seth Meyers showed on Tuesday.

“Trump doesn’t care about the issues or the details of the meetings. All he cares about is being best buds with Xi,” Meyers said. “He made it very clear that he’s been looking forward to hanging out with Xi for a long time.”
Meyers then played a series of news clips featuring Trump calling Xi things like “a brilliant man” and a “great gentleman.” In several clips, Trump can be heard praising Xi’s physical features, including saying he has a “great look” and “great stature.”
“You sound like a Long Island mom trying to set her adult daughter up on a date,” Meyers said of Trump’s praise.

Meyers then showed clips of U.S. service members literally rolling out a red carpet on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday, where Trump welcomed Xi.
Trump continued praising Xi during the Chinese president’s visit to the White House ahead of a lavish state dinner.
“From the time of my first election in 2016, President Xi and I have forged a friendship, a truly great friendship, actually, built on mutual respect and the vital interests of our people,” Trump said.
