Not everyone gets to watch themselves be portrayed onscreen by actor Robert Pattinson, but “To Catch A Predator” host Chris Hansen just did.
And, boy, he has thoughts.
Pattinson’s latest film, “Primetime,” which opened nationally Friday, features the “Twilight” star portraying Hansen during the making of the controversial crime documentary series, which used decoys and hidden cameras to catch suspected child predators.
Hansen wasn’t allowed an advance screening unless he signed a non-disclosure agreement, so he had to wait until opening day to see the film. He posted a mini-review clip on social media after someone asked him his opinion as he left a theater.
Spoiler: He didn’t seem super impressed.
“It was so bizarre and so in and out of reality,” Hansen said. “It’s hard for me to — you know, obviously I’m not objective because the character is me, but it was so detached from reality or anything I’ve ever experienced, then or now, doing the investigations. I just think it’s — I’m not sure what the point of it was.”
Hansen promised a more in-depth review would be posted on his YouTube channel later on Friday.

Hansen has had beef with “Primetime” for a while, partly because he said the filmmakers didn’t consult him and that he would have preferred actor Denis Leary to portray him instead.
Pattinson told reporters he hopes Hansen likes the movie, and that he would think “it’s some kind of compliment.”
You can get a taste of Pattinson’s portrayal of Hansen in the “Primetime” trailer, shown below.
