JD Vance made a compelling case for why citizens should vote in the upcoming midterm elections during a rally Monday in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Sadly for the Republican vice president, his reason turned out to be an endorsement for the Democratic Party.
Vance was in North Carolina to help Senate candidate Michael Whatley and state Rep. Jennifer Balkcom, who is running for Congress.
But he might have made things worse for the party’s chances when he told rallygoers: “Vote for the people who have solutions to lower the cost of gas; don’t vote for the people who made the problem to begin with.”
JD Vance makes a recommendation on who to vote for in the midterms:

Although Vance has been trying to push the narrative that former President Joe Biden, not Donald Trump’s costly Iran war, is responsible for higher gas prices, it hasn’t gone so well.
HuffPost reached out to Vance for comment on his possibly unintentional endorsement of the Democrats, but no one responded immediately.

As often happens in situations like this, many people on social media mocked the veep about the accidental campaign ad for the opposing party.

Vance isn’t the only Republican who keeps making statements that unintentionally make the case for Democrats.
Considering “corruption” is a top five issue for about 30% of voters, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) probably didn’t help the GOP when he told Fox News last week that if the Democrats win the House and Senate, they “would spend every day investigating the president, the first family, the Cabinet, donors to the party, leaders in business and industry.”
Late last month, Johnson also made a gaffe when he told CNBC that “what [the GOP] would do in the next two years is exactly what we have been doing already, and that is putting the conditions in place for a strong America.”
