Actor Daveigh Chase, who voiced Lilo in “Lilo & Stitch” and starred as Samara in the horror classic “The Ring,” died of AIDS, according to a report filed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner.

The agency listed “chronic polysubstance use,” or using multiple drugs over a short period of time, as a “significant condition.”
The medical examiner also said the death was considered “natural.”
Chase died in an L.A. hospital earlier this month at the age of 35.
Chase shot to fame as a child actor, providing not just the voice of Lilo in the Disney film and TV series but also voicing Chihiro in the English-language dub of the Oscar-winning animated film “Spirited Away,” widely considered one of the best animated movies of all time.
Her role in “The Ring” won her a “best villain” award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2003.

She also starred in the HBO series “Big Love,” among other roles.
But she hadn’t appeared on screen in a decade as she struggled with drug addiction and homelessness, her father, John David Schwallier, told the New York Times.
Schwallier said she was also battling bacterial meningitis and a blood infection when she died.
