You can choose between four light modes to choose the dimness you want.

Unlike those clunky lanterns that are a pain to pack, this one is lightweight, portable, and surprisingly sleek. It’s got a sturdy base that can sit on any surface and a built-in handle for easy hanging. Bonus: There’s a red night vision mode that reduces glare — perfect if you’re in a tent or trying not to wake your sleeping partner.

This tiny investment could be a lifesaver.

Sure, there are plenty of lanterns out there, but this one checks all the boxes: powerful, rechargeable, crank-ready and doubles as a phone charger. At $25, it’s the kind of smart, practical buy you’ll be so thankful for the next time the lights flicker out (because, let’s be honest, they always do).

So if upgrading your emergency setup has been on the to-do list, or you just want to be the person who’s always prepared, this lantern is the way to go. Even if it lives in your junk drawer most of the year, you’ll be glad it’s there when you need it.

See why reviewers say they’re happy they got themselves this emergency lantern:

I use this as a night light in my room. Due to storms and breakages we aren’t able to fix right now….there are no plug in my bedroom. And I’m in the middle of the woods and there’s no lights outside. Just TOO dark. So I have this on VERY dim and aimed at the white ceiling and that gives a soft over-all glow to the room. Which is just enough light. I can see everything in the room if I open my eyes, and it’s dim enough to not bother me while I’m trying to sleep. Excellent item. I like the potential for emergency use as well.” — Rowan54

Definitely need these in hand. If your batteries run out and you have no way to charge them, what are going to do? If you have one (at least) you can rely on the fact that you’ll have a working flashlight. All you have to do is crank it manually. I think it would make a great Christmas gift. It’s white, so you can find it easier. It’s pretty durable. I think it’s well worth the money to have it on hand. The light is strong, but I haven’t had to use it much so not sure about the battery life. I save this one for emergencies only. Magnet is strong. — Jennifer M

My first impressions of the product were great — it feels really nice in the hand, it feels solid and well-made.
I’ve had it for a week now, and have enjoyed using it. The light modes work well for me (though the inclusion of warm white ⇛ cool white ⇛ neutral white in the main sequence isn’t something I’ll use much; I can definitely see it being a useful feature to 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 people, but not really to me) and make sense. As someone who has a partner with migraines that are triggered by flashing light, I REALLY appreciate that the blinking mode is outside of the main sequence, and it can’t really be accidentally activated unless you intentionally press that [separate] button. Most flashlights include their flashing mode within the main sequence, which means that I have to really limit use of those devices around her.
The only real limitation of this product is the fact that the brightness can’t be adjusted when in color mode. As an engineer, this limitation doesn’t make much sense to me, and hopefully that will be improved upon in future product releases. But this is a minor issue — the brightness of the color modes has worked well for me. I especially like using the red light mode for when I get up for a pee break in the middle of the night, and it feels like the low-to-medium brightness of the red is very useful for that.
I wasn’t previously familiar with the JOYEKY brand, but I’m impressed, and will probably be buying more of their products.” — Dee Newcum

“I bought a few of these on sale to give as gifts. We have campers/hikers in the family, and as a quasi-paranoid parent I feel good about sending them this combo recharger/lantern.
Sure they might roll their eyes, until their phone dies and the lights go out. ;)” — Pamaloom

The one you want if you want a MagSafe charger

Highlights: Amazon’s highest-rated option for MagSafe chargers that offers strong, uninterrupted and hands-free charging for iPhones. Anker has made this battery pack using MiniCell technology to deliver the same reliable charge, with a much smaller battery size.

This is another (non-recalled) Anker power bank that’s Amazon’s highest-rated option for MagSafe chargers, a term that refers to a magnetic type of portable charger that connects directly to the back of most phone models to offer direct charging. The Anker 621 MagGo is compact, lightweight and promises 5,000 mAh of wireless, uninterrupted and hands-free power using a much smaller battery compared to other models — it’s enough to bring dead iPhone 15 models up to 80% per charge.

Keep in mind that, due to an overheating prevention safety feature that preserves battery quality, MagSafe chargers and such as the Anker MagGo, will automatically stop charging your phone once it reaches 80% and they will also have a decreased mAh due to energy conversion. You can also use this pocket-sized and airport-safe charger using a cord plugged directly into the MagGo’s USB-C port if desired, and it’s compatible with iPhone series 12 and above, just be sure to use it with a MagSafe case, or none at all.
