I am a bit of a shoe snob. I love a freaky, unique, weird shoe and am willing to pay for the luxury. So trust me when I say that no one was more surprised than I was when I found myself falling head over heels for a pair of FitFlop clogs. Not only are they the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned, but they look shockingly chic no matter how they are styled — and I regret to inform you that they’re worth every penny.

I came to these shoes in a very circuitous manner. I have officially reached the age where I need to be wearing supportive shoes at all times — no more padding around my house barefoot. I didn’t want to sacrifice comfort for style in my quest to find the perfect house shoe, and spent months researching options. When Emily Ruane, shopping managing editor and longtime FitFlop stan, recommend the brand’s clogs, I scoffed — but upon further evaluation, I grew more and more intrigued.
I eventually ordered two pairs of the Shuv clogs, one in smooth leather and the second in shearling. I figured the former could be my “warm weather house shoe” while the latter would serve as a “cold weather house shoe.”
The moment I stepped into the leather clogs, I realized I couldn’t keep them confined to the interiors of my apartment. The thick, soft leather is incredibly supple and requires practically zero break-in time. They are now perfectly molded to my high-arched feet and always look incredibly stylish and high-end.
The midsoles were developed by biomechanists, according to the brand, and specifically designed to be walkable and maximize comfort. I found that they are deliciously cushy and supportive, yet remain lightweight. I’ve walked over 20,000 steps in them with zero foot soreness or discomfort and nary a blister. I have a relatively narrow foot, and was worried they’d be too wide, but somehow they fit like a dream.
The outsole has a really slip-resistant, grippy tread, making it a lovely option for people who like extra stability. I wouldn’t recommend this, but I did wear them out in the aftermath of the snowstorm this week and felt steady on my feet.
These shoes are the perfect blend of form and function, and obviously lasted less than a week in their role as house shoes — I wear them everywhere. They’re a great commuter and office shoe, though honestly, I wear them almost every day of the week. I spent the month of December on long-haul flights and can confirm they are a dream for travel days. I even influenced my wife to get her own pair of FitFlop Shuv clogs, because no way am I sharing mine.
I am constantly getting complimented on these clogs, and people are always surprised to find out that they’re FitFlops. I will never stop singing their praises and vow to always have a pair in my footwear rotation. I’m incredibly optimistic about this shoe’s lifespan, they’ve held up near-perfectly after months of almost daily wear. Unsurprisingly, I’m not the only one raving about these delightful clogs.

Take a look at what other satisfied shoppers have to say and pick up a pair for yourself. Wear them during the winter season with thick wool socks or on their own when the weather gets warm. You can get them in black or tan in women’s sizes 5-11.
Promising reviews:
“This is my third time buying these shoes for operating room use. They are comfortable for long hours of standing. They prevent feet from getting wet from body fluids during surgeries. They last a long time. The soles are usually the most vulnerable part. The shiny models usually slough off after years of getting wet and polished. But so far, very happy with all my purchases. I hope these will last longer.” — Natasha
“The most comfortable shoe in the world, and if I have to be on my feet all day, especially on hard surfaces, this is the only shoe I’ll wear. Am so happy to get this shiny new pair, though my veteran pair is still in amazingly good shape after 9 years of constant wear in all kinds of conditions. You can put them on barefoot in summer (maybe put a bit of lotion on your feet if skin is dry, so they won’t slip out), or with leggings/tights or socks in winter. Keep in mind it’s an urban shoe, does not have the traction to hike over a muddy cliff (yes I’ve tried this) though they do darned well on a rainy day in the city. It has a fairly large toe box which is much healthier for our feet, helps prevent bunions. My feet have a thin profile but these still work beautifully.” — kayakman
“Love these clogs. Just step in and go! They’re very supportive if you’re in your feet all day and have slip prevention and micro wobble technology. Great shoe!” — FitFlopFanatic
“I have been wearing these clogs for a couple of weeks now. They were comfy from day one. I have a lot of pain in my feet and Fitflop are the only shoes I can wear. I have boots, clogs sandals and flipflops, a pair for every occasion.
These clogs are a gorgeous tan colour. The only clogs I like better are a pair of green Fitflop clogs with studs going around the edge. Had them for 10 years and still going strong. But loving my new ones. Thank you Fitflop, you make the only footwear that helps with my pain.” — TraciePink“These clogs are amazing. They are extremely comfortable and made of quality leather. I am so glad I purchased them.” — Fran J.
“These are the best travel shoe and they look great with jeans. Comfortable to kick off on the plane when the toes need to wiggle around. Great walking shoe once you get to your destination. This is my third pair. First pair went to Italy. Second pair was in Florida. These are headed to Australia. Have tried many other brands but these remain the clear winners for my old, flat, wide feet, peasant feet. FYI….I live in FitFlop sandals too!!!” — Just a mom
