French star Kylian Mbappé didn’t need advice on how to score goals at the World Cup on Tuesday. He scored two in France’s 3-1 victory over Senegal.

But he did take the recommendation of former “Late Late Show” host James Corden on how to celebrate.

In an episode of Corden’s “After Hours” World Cup show, the two chatted in a car reminiscent of Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment when he helmed his CBS late-night talk show. He left in 2023.
The two discussed Mbappé taking up the flute at age 7.
“I tried to play as a kid. My parents wanted me to do many things and explore many things, to open my mind to do all the things,” Mbappé said, per ESPN. “Because we never know what’s going to happen.”

The British comedian took out a flute and eventually instructed Mbappe on his potential next goal celebration: playing an imaginary flute.
“I will do it,” the player promised.
Sure enough, the striker put on a brief pretend concert after scoring in the second half to break a 0-0 tie. He then added another goal in stoppage time to become the all-time-leading goal scorer in French World Cup history.
Mbappé, a member of France’s 2018 World Cup champion team, appears to be on form.
