Presley Gerber, Son Of Cindy Crawford And Rande Gerber, Dies At 27: Reports

Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, has died at 27, according to multiple reports.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” a representative for Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and their daughter Kaia Gerber told TMZ while confirming Presley Gerber’s death.

Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records cited by multiple outlets showed Presley Gerber died at a rehab facility on Sunday. A cause of death has not been released.

Presley Gerber has worked as a model since he was a teenager and has spoken out about the challenges he faced with mental health and substance abuse. He had previously participated in modeling campaigns for Calvin Klein, Omega and Celine, and walked in shows for designers including Dolce & Gabbana.

“[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it,” Gerber previously said in a Studio 22 interview. “That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body. I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”

He’d also talked about addiction and how he’s grappled with it over time.

Presley Gerber’s sister, Kaia Gerber, addressed her brother’s addiction in a Vogue interview earlier this year as well. “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia Gerber said. “I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”

She praised her brother, too, for his openness in speaking about his experiences.

She said at the time, “My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’”
