You can use the Life360 app to track your devices, and — if you’re having trouble finding it — ring the Slim when it’s within 350 feet to make it easier to find. It works with both iOS and Android devices, and reviewers say it’s pretty loud so you can easily find your devices, with one adding, “Works way better than the AirTag that I have in my wallet because I can actually hear the Tile.”
This can come in clutch for anyone who’s dropped their wallet behind or underneath furniture at home, for example, but it’s also practical for travelers who want to keep their IDs and credit cards safe. One reviewer claimed the Tile Slim’s tracking technology “led me right to the location a thief discarded my wallet after it was stolen.”
Other travelers concur, and note that it’s useful for more than just wallets — you can store a Tile Slim in your luggage, similar to an AirTag. “We bought these before a trip overseas, to give us peace of mind that our luggage made it on the plane. When one of our bags didn’t appear on the baggage claim belt, airport personnel told us to file a claim,” one shopper said. “With the tracker in place, we were able to tell them that the bag was somewhere in the terminal, which prompted them to do a search, and find our bag still on a conveyor belt downstairs, saving us plenty of hassle getting it back or getting reimbursed. The setup is a little more involved than an AirTag, perhaps, given that it works through the Life360 app rather than built-in features like Apple Find My or Google Find Hub (so if you don’t already have the app, you’ll have to download it to get started). But, you don’t need a subscription to use it. And having the app can be handy, too: In an unsafe situation, you can use the Tile Slim to trigger an SOS to your Life360 Circle members, which sends your loved ones a help alert with your location.
If you’d rather not sign up for a separate app and want something of a similar shape that works with Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, this alternative is a good option. At full price, it costs the same as a Tile Slim, but is on sale for just $17 right now. It’s a little bit slimmer than the Tile Slim, and has a five-year battery life, with similar water resistance and a 330-foot Bluetooth range. Just note it lacks some of the Slim’s features, like the ability to send an SOS alert or to use it to find your phone.
