Trump Just Can’t Resist Taking A Dig At Mitch McConnell After Hospital Pic

“Well, I don’t hear much,” Trump said during a Newsmax interview.

But if McConnell was looking for any sympathy, he wasn’t going to get it from the president.

“I was, you know, never a huge fan,” Trump said, then launched into a series of complaints about McConnell. “Mitch McConnell is like a no vote on SAVE America Act.”

That’s Trump’s push for much stricter voter ID and proof of citizenship requirements ― a bill considered so favorable to Republicans that Trump has promised the GOP “will not lose an election for 100 years” if it’s enacted.

Critics, however, say it will disenfranchise legitimate voters ― with a Brennan Center analysis finding that more than 21 million American citizens don’t have the specific documents required by the bill.

The bill would also ban many forms of mail-in voting, which is ironic considering that’s how Trump himself has frequently cast his ballots.

McConnell is one of four Republican senators who have voted against the bill.

“He’s against that,” Trump griped. “And how can anybody be against that and against some other things. So it’s too bad. But, you know, I hope he’s gonna be fine. I don’t know if he’s fine, but I certainly hope he’s gonna be fine.”
