Dem Lawmaker Blasts ‘Smash-And-Grab’ Trump Scheme — And Says He ‘1,000%’ Agrees With Joe Rogan

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) found some common ground with Joe Rogan over a plan in the works for President Donald Trump’s social media company, Truth Social, to sell early access to his posts for a hefty fee.

“It’s a smash-and-grab get-rich-quick scheme and they’re turning the White House into one large insider trading conspiracy,” Raskin told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday.

Cooper had just played a recording of Rogan making similar comments about the plan, which Reuters reported could see Wall Street traders and investors pay up to $100,000 a month to see Trump’s posts before anyone else.

“You can get access to a tweet before he makes it, and then you can bet on that tweet. How is that legal?” the podcaster asked on “The Joe Rogan Experience” earlier this week.

Rogan, who endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, marveled, “He’s just on a grab.”

Seeing the clip, Raskin declared, “I agree 1,000% with Joe Rogan.”

Trump’s social media activity can have a huge impact on markets, which is why traders may be willing to pay up to see them early.

“The president regularly uses Truth Social to announce policy decisions, executive orders, personnel changes, even war declarations,” Cooper noted on his show.

Instant access to those posts, he said, “could give Wall Street a leg up over retail traders by delivering the posts split seconds faster than the public sees them.”
