“South Park” is making a big change before its 29th season premiere on Comedy Central on Sept. 16 ― or so it claims.

The long-running animated series just issued a press release announcing it’s changing its name after nearly three decades on air.
The tongue-in-cheek announcement says that in honor of the show’s recent Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are renaming “South Park” as “South America.”
The move is obviously a reference to Donald Trump’s recent decision to call Lake Ontario “Lake America.”
Parker and Stone said the move was “inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google,” both of which immediately implemented Trump’s preferred name for Lake Ontario in their map programs.
The “South Park” creators ended their announcement by saying, “We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount ― a Skydance Capitulation,” referring to how Paramount execs pandered to the Trump administration to get the company’s merger with Skydance approved last year.

As proof of concept, the press release included the show’s the new title card, featuring the name change.
The White House did not immediately comment on the Trump-skewering show’s name change.
This isn’t the first time “South Park” has trolled the Trump White House — it’s not even the first time it’s done so this week.
After the show won the Outstanding Animated Program Emmy this past weekend, Parker and Stone celebrated the honor by mocking Trump’s long-held obsession with getting that award.
