“Real Time” host Bill Maher gave MAGA a blunt assessment about President Donald Trump’s recent promise to give every American adult a $5,000 dividend if Republicans win the midterm elections.

Maher pointed out that this isn’t the first time Trump has made a promise like this, harkening back to when the president said Americans would receive DOGE savings checks and tariff rebate payments.
“When it comes to Trump, you’re not that bright. You’re just not that bright,” Maher said of conservatives. “It is a cult, and you’ve got to get a little smarter. I mean, how many times can the con man run the same con? And you still applaud for it? I don’t get it.”

Maher also touched on the issue during his opening monologue.
“He listed a lot of new proposals, and then just went, ’You know what, fuck it, I’ll give you five grand,” Maher said. “That’s it, really. That was the big take from the convention, the midterm convention. That’s really the solution we have. If you vote Republicans in, the government will hand out to everyone, $5,000. You know, to fight socialism.”

Maher then took a jab at Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) extended absence from Congress and the rumors about his death.
“To get the money, all you have to do is just be an American adult and be alive. So, Mitch McConnell, your move,” Maher said.
