He Said What?!?: MAGA Lawmaker Mocked For ‘Actually Insane’ New Trump Claim

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) is facing heat on social media for wild new praise of President Donald Trump that some critics compared to North Korean propaganda.

“Donald Trump is the best thing to happen in this country in a hundred years,” Nehls declared. “He was born a very special baby. I bet you the doctors said, ‘I can tell this is a very special baby.’”

Nehls also proposed ― presumably sarcastically ― a special fund to help treat people with so-called “Trump derangement syndrome,” the made-up affliction the president uses to dismiss his critics.

“Maybe we ought to provide some counseling for all the nutjobs out there that think Donald Trump is the worst thing,” Nehls said.

Nehls has a long and colorful history of showing just how much he loves the president.

“If Donald Trump says, ‘Jump three feet high and scratch your head,’ we all jump three feet high and scratch our heads. That’s it,” he said in 2024. Earlier this year, Nehls made news by wearing a necktie with Trump’s face all over it to the State of the Union ― then asked the president to sign it after the speech.

His latest over-the-top praise of Trump, going back to his time as a “very special baby,” had critics talking on social media:

Jonestown shit. Embarrassing. Listen to yourselves. https://t.co/rhMupAu9WY

Unbelievable.

At this point we’re one step away from hearing that the Wise Men followed a star straight to Mar-a-Lago.

This isn’t political support anymore.

It’s the kind of praise that makes dictators blush and comedians unemployed. 🔥 https://t.co/Iwnqsd8EWj
