Arm & Hammer’s OdorBusterz balls come in packs from three up to 10, and are designed for small-space odor control. Each ball is about the size of a golf ball, and can be tossed in a smelly gym bag, closet, drawer, hamper, locker, backpack, suitcase and anywhere else musty odors build up.
The balls are designed with a baking soda core to absorb and neutralize odors, while the plastic outer shell keeps it contained and mess-free while allowing for airflow. They’re advertised as working for up to 60 days, meaning you will eventually need to replace them, but some reviewers say they’ve gone for up to 90, while others report success with shaking them to activate, in order to make them last longer.
Reviewers are amazed at how well the balls work to get rid of stubborn smells around the house and on the go. “These smell so fresh and clean! Generally, I don’t like the smell of closets because of that ‘old shoe’ smell. But for the past couple years I’ve been tossing these Arm & Hammer Odor Buster Balls in my tennis shoes and boots. And it actually smells pleasant in there nowadays,” one said.
Another called them “little round bodyguards for your nostrils,” and said that the “miracle balls” eliminated odors from their own shoes and their teenage son’s hamper.
Shoppers have also gotten creative with where they put the balls to work. One parent described how the odor elimination made a “noticeable difference” when they placed two at the bottom of their toddler’s diaper pail. Another person found that the balls kept their suitcase fresh during a weeklong trip, after they put them in their bag of dirty clothing. In other words, there’s likely very few people out there who wouldn’t benefit from having these in one of their spaces.
