Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico jumped on a geographical typo by his Donald Trump-endorsed Republican rival, Ken Paxton.

Paxton, the Texas attorney general, took to X over the weekend to thank supporters who had attended his campaign event in Lubbock.
“This campaign continues to grow every day,” he claimed.
Paxton then teased his next event: “Next stop: Cyprus with the great @TedCruz. We will keep Texas, Texas.”
But Paxton actually meant he’d be rallying with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in Cypress, near Houston, and not Cyprus, the Mediterranean island nation.

Amid online mockery and criticism, Paxton deleted the post.
A subsequent Facebook post from Paxton spelled Cypress correctly.
But Talarico didn’t let the mistake slide.
“It’s Cypress, not ‘Cyprus,’” he noted.
“But for all the time you spend on luxury vacations in Europe, it’s no surprise you don’t know Texas,” Talarico added, swiping at controversies surrounding Paxton’s overseas travel.
