During an interview on Fox News on Tuesday, the president hailed his administration’s economic performance, pointing to the rising stock market, record-high 401(k)s and strong jobs numbers ― but ignoring inflation and gas prices, which remain stubbornly high, and many Americans’ experience of a cost-of-living crisis.
“We’re doing an unbelievable job,” Trump declared.
He then added:
“Costs are coming way down … I inherited very very high costs and they’re all coming down now. The food, the groceries, it’s all coming down. We’ve done a great job. You know, I think we should be given an A+ on the economy. I think that’s coming, people are starting to talk about it.”
