- An immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
- An agreement to “respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.”
- The U.S. will lift its naval blockade.
- Iran will reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
- Iran will receive $300 billion for the “rehabilitation and economic development” of the country.
- The U.S. agrees to drop sanctions against Iran.
- Iran “reiterates that it will never produce nuclear weapons.”
Speaking alongside the emir of Qatar on Tuesday, President Donald Trump said the deal will ensure Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon.
“The only thing that really matters to me is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and it says it loud and clear,” Trump said. “They’re not going to develop it, they’re not going to buy it, they’re not going to do anything with it, and if they do, they suffer unbelievable consequences.”
Trump has been criticized for gaining little in his war against Iran. Former President Barack Obama told ABC News that the agreement is likely not an improvement from Obama’s initial deal with Iran that Trump ripped up in his first term.

Obama told ABC News’ Robin Roberts in a “Good Morning America” interview scheduled to air on Wednesday, “It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going to be significantly different, or a significant improvement from the deal that we had in the first place, and had worked for a long stretch of time before we, the United States, pulled out of it.”
The final agreement will be approved through a binding resolution of the U.N. Security Council during a signing Friday in Switzerland.
