The White House tried to turn one of President Donald Trump’s odd moments into a viral meme on Wednesday, but not everyone was smashing that “like” button.

Trump earlier in the day arrived nearly an hour late to a key G7 meeting in France where most of the other world leaders were already assembled.
He first walked to the wrong side of the table, and had to circle back to get to his spot.
About halfway there, at the head of the table, he paused and turned to the other leaders.
“I’m the boss,” he announced:
There was some laughter in the room, and Trump continued toward his seat, smiling at some of the other leaders as he approached.
The White House social media team created at least three posts trying to turn the “boss” moment into a meme, including one that repeated the phrase in an hourlong loop.
Critics hit back on X:

The copium is real. He isn’t the boss of anything. Real bosses don’t need to remind everyone that they are the boss. https://t.co/jkYEprybi6

Real bosses don’t need to spend an hour telling everyone they’re the boss.
If you have to say “I’m the boss” out loud over and over, you’re probably proving you’re not actually in control. https://t.co/6invo1M5V7

These White House social media nitwits are truly brain dead. So unprofessional. Dotard Trump couldn’t even find his seat without help, and tried to save himself embarrassment by standing there and calling himself the boss. He’s made America a bad joke. https://t.co/OhkXJSkBxv
